Julie Clough, Operations Manager, Pharmacy Dispensary

Julie was nominated by Ros Edwards and chosen as the overall winner by the Executive Committee.

She has an incredibly positive attitude to work. An excellent Manager who helps to recognize and develop her staff while being involved in the change team, contributing to this important leadership development program. A great Manager and credit to the Trust.


Quality Improvement And Transformation Award

Rheumatology Specialist Nurses

The judges described them as an inspirational group of nurses who have adopted practices to streamline their service, improving quality and efficiency while making cost savings. In addition, the drive for efficiency has led to revenue being generated by these changes. They have a collaborative ethic and show a willingness to share their best practices across the Trust.

Gallium PET Project Team

This is a truly groundbreaking project that is at the forefront of new medicine. The judges were impressed with the continued strive for advancement in this form of treatment to meet a need in such an important area.

The judges praised the passion this team showed in their work. They have innovated in their processes and procedures, doing more than just their job and have openly shared this with others to drive all round improvements in quality and care.

Bone Marrow Transplant Team

The judges said this was an amazing service. They have had to adapt their skillset to become the only patient facing laboratory. They remain outstanding behind the scenes with highly skilled and technical staff.


People’s Choice Awards - Patient’s Choice Award

Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

A fantastic team nominated by Patricia Rowland for the care given to her husband. She said the Bone marrow transplant team led by doctor Salim demonstrate the highest skills of care, compassion, sensitivity and positivity to patients. The whole team welcome you with a smile and make you feel part of a family, providing the perfect environment with help and support throughout treatment and recovery. They are exceptional.


People’s Choice Award - R Staff Unsung Hero Award

Father Christopher Peter, Chaplain

A very popular winner with multiple nominations. Father Christopher treats patients with respect and dignity, nothing is ever too much trouble, offering advice to both patients and staff, he puts a smile on your face and brightens up the day. He is hard working and easily approachable, providing constant emotional and spiritual support to anyone who requires it. He goes above and beyond in his role.


Directors’ Star Awards - Chief Executive’s Award

The Colorectal Team

The judges were impressed with how the team devised a new system and procedure based on a small study and implemented this to great effect. Working closely with GP’s and Primary Care providers they now offer a seamless coordinated approach to patient care with patients being investigated promptly and receiving results in a timely manner.

Corinna Swift, Eye Clinical Liaison Officer

Working at St Paul’s outpatient department Corinna provides a vital link between the medical staff, patients and external charities and agencies. She provides patients with first class support starting with a consultation to ongoing support and care for those who are sight impaired.

Judges praised her caring, professional attitude. In the past 18 months she has personally assisted over 2,500 patients, working alone she exemplifies the first class care expected of the Trust. A deserving winner.

The judges saw in this project an outstanding contribution to the Trust which is having wider clinical implications across the country. A project at the cutting edge of diagnostic therapy.
